F1, Fernando Alonso pinches Lewis Hamilton: the Briton’s response
Lewis Hamilton’s response to his former teammate Fernando Alonso’s words was not long in coming: the Mercedes driver posted on his Twitter profile a picture of the two of them on the podium of the 2007 U.S. Grand Prix with Lewis, first place, giving an emblematic pat on the back to Fernando, second. The photo was accompanied by the thumbs-up emoticon.
Alonso in recent days gave an interview to De Telegraaf in which he said, “I have a lot of respect for Lewis, but it is still different to win seven world titles when you only had to fight with your teammate. So I think a championship won that way has less value than someone who won fewer titles but had to fight against other drivers who had an equal or even better means.”
The Spaniard had then attempted to correct his point, clarifying on social media, “I’m tired of the constant search for titles, let’s enjoy the champions and legends of our time.”
