A few months ago, inside mom Eleonora’s belly, she had seen dad Matteo win a bronze medal at the European Championships in Munich. Now the party is complete.
Little Leone has come into the light in Milan, to the delight of blue marchers and life partners Giorgi and Giupponi. It is the crowning achievement of a wonderful year for Matteo Giupponi (Carabinieri), who in Germany in August won the first prestigious medal of his career, the bronze medal in the 35 km, and it is the greatest happiness for Eleonora Giorgi (Fiamme Azzurre), a splendid bronze at the World Championships in Doha in 2019 in the 50 km, a specialty in which she also holds the European record.
