Virtus Bologna, Sergio Scariolo doesn’t hold it against Mike James
Sergio Scariolo doesn’t hold it against the Monaco player
After the game against Alba Berlin, valid for the 14th day of the Euroleague, Monaco player Mike James, through his social profiles blurted out against the defense used by the Germans to limit him in the offensive phase. At the end of the game, however, it was the French team that won, with the score of 92-89.
Virtus Bologna coach Sergio Scariolo, in words reported by ‘PianetaBasket’, had his say: “Everyone has his own opinion. We used that defense for three minutes in the game against Maccabi Tel Aviv, and it gave us the opportunity to change the inertia of the match. We were down by seven, and in those three minutes we turned the game around.”
“I’ve never used that kind of defense for the duration of a match. But if a team like Munich won the game on the last shot because the Alba Berlin player slipped and couldn’t contest the decisive shot, it means it led to something,” Scariolo continued.
“I understand Mike James, because playing for 40′ with one on you must not be fun,” concluded the Black Vu coach.
