Cristiano Ronaldo: a compatriot advises him on his next team
Interviewed by the podcast ‘JOGA!’, Rolando advised Cristiano Ronaldo: “Of course I would advise him to go to Olympique Marseille, that would be one more reason to go to the Vélodrome. I am sure he would help the club, I have no doubt because we are talking about a footballer with incredible qualities.”
“Surely though, you have to be ready to move to Marseille because it is not an easy place and you have to adapt to be able to live it to the fullest. I left in 2019 after four wonderful years, I went through difficult moments but also others that I will carry in my heart forever. It’s a different city to the ones I was used to but I learned to love it with time,” he said.
Rolando grew up in Belenenses, then moved to Porto. In 2013 he moved to Italy, first to Napoli, then to Inter Milan. In 2014 he returned to Porto and later played for Anderlecht, Olympique Marseille and Braga, from which he parted ways in the summer. He collected 21 appearances with the Portuguese senior national team.
