Genoa, Mimmo Criscito throws a dig at Blessin and makes a promise
Criscito has returned to Genoa after a stint in Canada
Domenico Criscito has returned to the Rossoblù after playing for Toronto FC, a Canadian club participating in Major League Soccer, for the past six months. The former Grifone captain is in his fifth career experience with the shirt and will be able to come in very handy for coach Alberto Gilardino, especially to fill the void left by the injured Pajac.
The defender, interviewed by the microphones of Sky Sport, threw a heavy dig at former coach Alexander Blessin, who was replaced in December by the former Parma, Fiorentina and Milan striker among others: “I left because I was no longer in Blessin’s plans. In addition, the opportunity to go to Toronto presented itself to me, and at that point I could not say no. Hence the idea with the club to take different paths.”
Then Criscito closed with a promise to the fans and beyond: “These for me will be the last months as a player. Then the goal is to coach Genoa. But now I am focused on these six months because I want to bring Genoa back to Serie A. For me when we talk about Genoa we talk about life. With these colors I grew up and I want to close here.”
