Euroleague, Virtus Bologna and Olimpia Milano avoid the bogeyman
Virtus and Olimpia avoid bogeyman Facundo Campazzo
Good news for the two Italian teams involved in the Euroleague: in fact, neither Sergio Scariolo’s Virtus Bologna nor Ettore Messina’s Olimpia Milano will have to deal with Facundo Campazzo, who just arrived at the Red Star from the Dallas Mavericks.
In fact, the Argentine point guard will not be able to take the court in Europe’s top club competition until March 1, following the TAS decision: the Serbian team on January 31 will visit the Felsineans at the Virtus Segafredo Arena while on February 2 they will be in Milan, to play against the Meneghini and on both occasions without the former Nba player.
On the issue, Nebojsa Covic, president of Red Star, said, “There is no point in appealing, we tried to temporarily suspend that wrong registration decision but we did not succeed. Now if we went ahead and appealed, we would spend money to make decisions in May or June.”
