NBA: Bucks make 13, but Giannis Antetokounmpo goes down
“I can’t say what the action was where he got hurt,” Coach Budenholzer said at the end of the game.
Engaged on the home floor against the Miami Heat, who were ruled flawlessly by a score of 128-99, the Milwuakee Bucks cashed in not only their 13th win in a row, but also the bad news of Giannis Antetokounmpo’s new stop.
Already previously suffering from a wrist problem, which has since been resolved, the Greek phenom had to leave the court 70 seconds before the end of the first quarter, after playing just 6′ effective of the game. After passing the ball to a teammate on the developments of a Bucks’ offensive play, the Greek felt pain in his right knee and immediately asked for a change.
“Giannis asked to come out and we took care of it,” Coach Budenholzer explained after the game. “Fortunately, we had the ball in our possession and I immediately called timeout, but I honestly can’t say what the action was where he got hurt,” the coach added. “He was the one who dragged us through these last two days of practice; hopefully he’ll be back with the group soon,” said teammate Jrue Holiday, who starred in the win over Miami with 24 points on the bench.
