Reached by Repubblica, Andrea Masiello did not hold back in talking about Alexander Blessin: “He used to compliment me on how I trained and on my professionalism, but then he did not let me play a single minute, not even on the last day against Bologna when we were already relegated. A little more respect and consideration I, but also others who in recent years had pulled the strings and always led Genoa to safety, would have deserved it.”
The seasoned defender had also been offered to join the Grifone’s technical staff: “I was not asked by Blessin but by Spors. And I politely declined: I couldn’t collaborate with a coach I knew so little, I don’t know English, and I still wanted to play.”
