Valentino Rossi, former coach Cadalora makes confession
Luca Cadalora talked about his time with Valentino Rossi: “It was like I was back racing with him.”
Luca Cadalora in an interview with Sky looked back on the years he coached Valentino Rossi toward the final part of the Doctor’s career, “It was beautiful. It’s kind of like when you go to the attic and you find a forgotten coat and that coat was me.”
An intensely lived experience: “A beautiful adventure, in which I tried to give my all, but it also gave me a lot, it was three intense years. A lot of people do it now, but we did it our way and it was a bit unexpected. But there was attunement, even though we were not friends before. He wasn’t sure it would work, but instead it felt like racing again, I felt like I was riding with him. It was intense.”
“After three years I stopped because it was a heavy commitment,” Cadalora explained, “and it was becoming a bit repetitive, and I’m like that: when something becomes like a normal job, it doesn’t excite me anymore, so I stopped before it became an obligation. And then I had my daughters getting older, and I wanted to be home being a dad, accompanying them in their growth, which was important.”
