Pesaro reopens series, Milan knocked out. Messina: “Pathetic defense.”
Pesaro reopened the Serie A quarterfinal series against Olimpia Milano by imposing 88-83 at home on Ettore Messina’s team, top scorers Tote with 16 points and Tambone with 13. A 63-point Napier was not enough for Milan.
Very tough Olimpia coach Messina after the game in the press conference, “Congratulations to Pesaro, they deserved the win. In the last quarter we defended pathetically, because we allowed them everything, played mediocre defensively. They believed and deserved it, now let’s see what happens in game 4.”
“We defended very poorly,” insisted Messina. “We scored 84 points, which could and should have been enough to win, also because in the first two games we took 60 on average. We cannot afford that.”
