Sainz second and Leclerc second-to-last: a peculiar Saturday for Ferrari after qualifying for the Spanish GP. Red team principal Frederic Vasseur explained the team’s anomalous result this way, “We have totally mixed feelings after this qualifying, because there is a car on the front row while on the other side of the box everything was more difficult from the first lap.”

“I’m sure this was Carlos’ best qualifying since the beginning of the season, he had a good pace and it was a good step for us as well, considering that we brought the update here and in the factory they have been working so hard in the last weeks. I think this is the best reward for us.”
