Rune, press conference show: “Me in semifinals, Musetti not”
The Danish tennis player spoke after the match he won against Azzurro
Holger Rune spoke at a press conference after his victory against Lorenzo Musetti at Queen’s, still causing discussion with his statements. In the second set, the match suddenly became heated when Azure unintentionally hit the Danish tennis player with a smash.
Musetti immediately apologized but in the aftermath of the match Rune spoke this way, “He can do whatever he wants, it’s certainly not the best thing to do, but it’s legal. He can hit the ball wherever he wants. But that ball gave me additional motivation to beat him. I’m happy to have beaten Musetti in two sets. I’m in the semifinals; he’s not.”
Controversy also over the medical stop he requested during the match: “Didn’t I look injured? I didn’t serve very well at the beginning of the match because I was experiencing discomfort in my wrist. So I don’t know what you saw. If you were in my body, you could say something like that. If not, you shouldn’t,” he said responding piquantly to the reporter.
