“You know I’m not Russian, right?” the Belarusian athlete exploded. “Wimbledon is one of the greatest tournaments, always has been and is one of the oldest in history. It is iconic. I don’t know how they see it in Russia. I’m not from Russia, so I don’t know how it feels there.”

Azarenka then returned to a smile when talking about the audience, “It was really nice. People are very nice. Of course sometimes some incidents happen, but I felt very well received. I was supported everywhere and I appreciate this part so much. Hearing people cheering for me is also a reason why I play, so it’s been great.”
