MotoGp controversy, Aprilia vs. Ducati: frontal attack
Aprilia CEO Massimo Rivola’s frontal attack on Ducati after the MotoGp weekend at Silverstone. The Noale-based manufacturer’s executive did not mince words in condemning Borgo Panigale’s dominance in motorcycling’s premier class.
“There are eight Borgo Panigale bikes on the track: too many. It’s a huge advantage, because you have a lot more information than your opponents and you find solutions more quickly. It would take a budget-cap like in F1. And with the same resources, I would challenge anyone to beat our Aprilia,” are Rivola’s clear words, reported by La Repubblica.
Aprilia’s victory in Britain gave the Italian brand a breather after a negative first half of the World Championship: “This year’s bike is definitely better and we knew that. But for a series of circumstances, the initial part of the season had not gone well at all.”
At Silverstone, Aprilia placed three riders in the top five: the challenge with Ducati is open.
