Three wins out of three, and Europe è warned.
Volleyball Italy unstoppable at the men’s European Championships. The national team of Fefé De Giorgi in fact drops the trio and also beats Serbia, which at the PalaBarton in Perugia falls in three sets: 25-15, 25-19, 25-21 the partials. The Azzurri are confirmed at the top of the ranking, next challenge next Monday against Switzerland in Ancona.
The mattatore of the Azzurri evening was Daniele Lavia, author of 13 points, but it was also important the redemption of Alessandro Michieletto after the half flop against Estonia: for his part, against Serbia, 12 points arrived including 5 ace. It was also a magical evening for Simone Giannelli: Italy's captain reached 200 games for the national team, celebrating the milestone with 6 points to his credit.
Now Italy has mortgaged first place in Pool A, to be confirmed against Switzerland and then Germany. This could avert a clash with Poland (which is dominating Pool C) in the next games. To the round of 16 should come one of Denmark, North Macedonia or Montenegro.
