Olimpia Milano, Ettore Messina extends hand to Brindisi
Coach Messina’s words after Brindisi-Olimpia Milano
Despite a start with the handbrake a bit pulled (by the coach's own admission), Olimpia Milano obtained in Brindisi a victory by a wide margin, a +30 that leaves little room for interpretation. Ettore Messina, however, does not want to incense too much the performance of his team and admits that the absences among the ranks of Happy Casa had their own weight on the performance of the match.
"Obviously it was a match played at unequal arms, thinking about Brindisi’s absences – admitted the coach of the Red Shoes, to the club’s official channels – We defended well from the beginning, but in offense we were a bit’timorous, insecure. Then in the second half we loosened up, moved the ball well, made good choices and shot well from both two and three".
"I am happy,” he added, “because it was not easy to take off that tension that gripped us at the beginning. Of course we have to take into account what Brindisi was today. But when it gets its act together I think this will go back to being the tough field it è always been".
For Olimpia è success number four in the league, out of six games played. Avenged, in that sense, the defeat at the Forum last Sunday against Pesaro, which had kicked off a bad week in the Euroleague as well. For Brindisi è instead black crisis: zero wins in six games.
