Juventus, Adrien Rabiot dribbles the question of renewal
The protagonist of an episode of DAZN Heroes, 28-year-old French Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot sang the praises of Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri but dribbled the question about the renewal of his contract with the Old Lady in whose ranks è in his fifth season. Here are his words.
"I had met Allegri the season before I arrived at Juve and it was he who wanted me here, but when I signed, he è left. When we met again there’è was feeling right away. I had come from six months without playing, I had received criticism and I still had to adapt, but I grew a lot. I know the mentalityà of the coach, I know what he wants from us and his winning approach that I share”.
“We talked a lot during the season and he also often sends me messages…. And he does it even when I am on vacation! When the coach in the last minutes gets angry, we can’t help but see it from the field, but also this aspect of Allegri è positive: he lives the games fully and wants to stay in the game until the end. I am happy to wear the captain’s armband especially thinking about the history of this club. Renewal? We will talk about it moreù later".
"For the Scudetto we will see what happens; Allegri has the winning mentality and applies it in every game and every day and è this is what makes him a great coach. After a game I always look at my own performance to see my mistakes but I also look at other teams’ games to see how they play, especially in midfield and who will be my opponents".
"My idol? Steven Gerrard, a box-to-box player who could make a goal by kicking from thirty yards out and then go sliding to defend his goal. Back in the day he was already a modern player. The dream? I choose the Champions League becauseé I think it is the most difficult competition to win".
