Ricardo Gareca new Chile coach
Former Argentine national Ricardo Gareca, 65, è has been named coach of the Chilean national team. This was announced by the Chilean Football Federation.
Gareca, a former Perù coach, will be tasked with leading the Roja during the 2024 Copa America (June 20-July 16) and the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
He succeeds compatriot Eduardo Berizzo, who è resigned last November. After six days of the World Cup qualifying tournament, Chile è eighth with 5 points, tied with Paraguay (seventh).
The top six will qualify for the final round in Canada, the United States and Mexico (June 11-July 19, 2026), while the seventh will play an intercontinental playoff.
