Jannik Sinner, the numbers
The Australian Open has already made history with an unprecedented prize pool of A$86.5 million, marking a remarkable 13 percent growth over the previous year. The announcement è was made by Australian Open tournament director Craig Tiley, who stressed the importance of ensuring adequate compensation for the world's best players for the continued success of the Slam.
"We have increased the prize money for each round,‖ said Tiley.
It is critical to the success of the Slam to ensure that the best players in the world receive adequate compensation. We know that this allows players to invest in their careers and, in many cases, helps set them up for success throughout."
One point of particular interest concerns Jannik Sinner. Should he win the final, he would take home an extraordinary prize of 3.15 million Australian dollars. This represents a significant 5.88 percent increase over the 2023 prize pool, which was $2,975,000. Considering the current exchange rate, the young Italian would win a check for about 1.9 million euros.
