A 'Rocket' d'silver that gives Italy its first world medal in the 200 butterfly and Martinenghi's encore in the breaststroke, in addition to Super Greg Paltrinieri's bronze: the Doha rainbow pool continues to give blue-tinged emotions.
Alberto Razzetti consecrated himself among the big boys of the pool, graduating as vice world champion in the 200 butterfly, which in the semifinals had given him his third Olympic pass, after those won in the 200 and 400 mixed.
It was a super final for the 24-year-old from Genoa who in 1'54"65 was ahead of only Japan's Tomoru Honda, gold in 1'53"88. Closing out the podium was Austrian Martin Esperenberger in 1'55"16. Not even time to rest for Razzetti, who returned to the blocks and went on to take the final of the 200 medley.
And he does the silver encore Nicolò Martineghi: after the medal in the 100 (with pass for Paris) the champion from Varese è second also in the 50 breaststroke, preceded by the Australian Sam Williamson who overtakes him ten meters from the finish and wins in 26"32.
