Pallacanestro Varese places the Michael Gilmore blow

Michael Gilmore è a new player of Varese Basketball. The announcement è was made by the same white-and-red club, through an official note: "Pallacanestro Varese è happy to announce that it has found a multi-year agreement with Michael Gilmore, a player class ‘95 of Belgian passport coming from PAOK, a formation with which he had started the season. Gilmore è a 208-centimeter wing who is complete and reliable not only on offense but also on defense, where he makes himself useful thanks to his physicality and athleticism. For him this is the first experience in the Italian league".

In addition to his years of international basketball experience, high-level shooting and rebounding ability, Michael will provide the team with the desire to compete and fight by combining his physique and strength with pace and skill. We are happy that he can experience firsthand the’incredible support of our fans in Varese and we look forward to seeing him at’work on the court in the red and white jersey".

Grandson of Artis "A-Train" Gilmore, Michael Gilmore was born in Jacksonville, Florida, on Jan. 15, 1995. He trained basketball at prestigious VCU, moving to Europe almost immediately once he graduated with a degree in criminology. The first team to sign him in 2019-2020 è Germany’s Phoenix Hagen while the following year he found fortune in Belgium’s Ostend. In 2021-2022 he returns to his homeland to play in the G League with the undershirts of Wisconsin Herd and Raptors 905 Missisauga, but è the following season that he finally explodes; transferred to Sweden (BC Lulea), he stars in an impressive season closed at over 18 points average and 8.8 rebounds per game. Excellent figures that take him, at the beginning of this season, to Greece, in the ranks of PAOK, a formation with which he performs well in the league but, above all, in the Basketball Champions League, a competition that he closes with 7 points (44% from 3) and 6 rebounds per lace.
