Nico Mannion, first words as captain of Varese Basketball

.

Speaking at the microphones of the "Quotidiano Sportivo", Varese Basketball point guard Nico Mannion è expressed himself bluntly about his promotion to captain of the team coached by Herman Mandole.

"To be the captain of Varese Basketball è definitely a great honor for me, you only have to go through the list of those who have put the sash here in the past to realize the greatness of the club. And to do it at 23 years old è a beautiful thing. There'è also a lot of responsibility; but I am so ready to play this role to the best of my ability" debuted the Azzurri playmaker.

"We lost by 4 to Cremona, we always take the court to win and so the result is not è obviously what we would have liked. The good thing è that we found another energy in the second half, with more pace and more aggressiveness on defense. We were down by 11 and got as far as -2, this è an important thing" added the'former Golden State Warriors.

"On a personal level, after two days of stop, I entered the court determined and I am satisfied with the 23 points scored although I still have to grow a lot, but there'è still time. We have only been together for three weeks, we still have to find chemistry and these games are also for that. We have another few weeks of preseason and we will work hard to make sure we are ready for the start of the season. In Livigno we worked very well, in the cool and in very good facilities, we spent some nice days in a beautiful location" Nico Mannion commented.
