Alexander Steen Olsen handsome at night in Schladming
Alexander Steen Olsen won the Schladming night giant slalom with a total time of 1’42″75, ahead of Henrik Kristoffersen, who was 39 hundredths behind, while Marco Odermatt also made the podium, 60 hundredths behind the winner, but with 9 positions recovered in the second run.
Luca De Aliprandini è defended himself on the Planai salt, in a really not easy evening after the rain that hammered the first run and the wet snow, the second. After the’11th place in the midà race, the Trentino closes in 14th place overall in a shortened race, which saw all the protagonists very close in the gaps.
“Short race and the slightest mistake you pay dearly – said De Aliprandini -, a giant a bit’ strange. I can’t say I had a good race, but not a bad one either. Certainly, it does not repay what you è done in training. Now we aim for the World Championships, I like the track in Saalbach and we will train properly”.
Filippo Della Vite finished in 23rd place, the same as in the first run, while Giovanni Borsotti è managed to recover two positions in the second run, finishing in 28th place. Out in the second Simon Talacci, who had won the first qualification of his career. Unfortunately, no points for the young Livignasco man. Not qualified after the first run Alex Vinatzer and Tobias Kastlunger.
“I am quite poor on the plate – said Della Vite -, and there’was some fog. From mid’down; I recovered. The skiing there’è but it’è went like this. We are waiting for the next one. I am skiing well, and I am positive for the next ones.
“I am angry – said Simon Talacci -. I tried to attack, but I made too many mistakes. I think I am quite effective on the medium slopes. I still have to improve a lot”.
The slalom is scheduled for Wednesday, with the same times: 5:45 p.m. the first run and 8:45 p.m. the second.
