Raphael Palladino’s Fiorentina is preparing to take the field for the penultimate day of Serie A. The Franchi will host the championship match between Bologna, galvanized by its recent triumph in the Coppa Italia, and the purple team.

Fiorentina-Bologna represents a decisive challenge in the race for Europe. The Viola, at the moment, would be out of European competition, but with a win on Sunday they would hook right into Bologna in seventh place.

The Fiorentina coach began by talking about the absences: “Up front we are in emergency. Kean and Albert only did a small part with the team this morning. Let’s see tomorrow how the refinement will go, I have to understand their condition and their feelings, tomorrow we will attach someone from the spring, the team is ready for the emergency in attack. They both had the same problem.”

He then continued on the team’s momentum: “The exit from the conference was a blow, the team on Sunday comes motivated, we all row on the same side. We have 6 points at our disposal, we want to give an important meaning to the championship, there is a chance to enter the cups and we want to play it until the last second.”

The former Monza coach then spoke about Sunday’s match: “I congratulate Bologna for winning the Coppa Italia, we face a team with great enthusiasm, we come from a defeat and an elimination, Sunday will be a tough match also by virtue of the absences, but we must be motivated. I am sure the boys will give their best.”

Finally, the Italian coach concluded by talking about the season: “With Betis we didn’t disappear in extra time, that match was played openly, we arrived at the decisive moment of the season with so many absences, I never talk about bad luck but losing fundamental pieces didn’t help us. The sore point is losing many points to the small ones, this team has always had identity despite the changes in the season, we have adapted to different situations. This is not a season of disasters, I thank the fans who have always been there for us. Let’s see where we get to at the end of the season, then the responsibility in the first place is mine.”
