Fiorentina suffers a shocking defeat at the Franchi against Frosinone. Sassuolo defeats Torino
A shocking defeat for Fabio Grosso’s ambitious Fiorentina: after a crushing loss in their season opener in Rome, the Viola were humiliated at home by Frosinone, 3-0, on the second matchday of Serie A. In front of a stunned crowd at the Franchi Stadium, the Tuscan side collapsed under the pressure of Raimondo (who scored twice) and Bracaglia and remain with zero points in the standings. In another afternoon match, Sassuolo defeated Torino 2-1 at home at the Mapei Stadium. The Neroverdi started stronger and hit the crossbar with a shot from fullback Cinquegrano. As the minutes went by, Torino began to take control, but it was the home team that took the lead in the 32nd minute: Laurienté stole the ball from Comuzzo, Adzic laid it off with a backheel to Volpato, who put the Neroverdi ahead.
