A challenge with very high specific weight in this intense regular season finale. In the A2 midweek round, scheduled for April 8 at 8:30 p.m. at the Beta Ricambi Arena – PalaMangano, Givova Scafati receives Valtur Brindisi when there are just four days left to the end of the return round. It is the confrontation between some of the main protagonists of the championship who, together with Fortitudo Bologna, chase the leader Libertas Pesaro just two points behind. The lineup led by Coach Vitucci, who coached in Brindisi from 2017 to 2023, comes from five consecutive victories, while the Apulians have won three victories in their last four outings, including a narrow one against Livorno last weekend. Two teams in great shape, ready to contend for a result that could decisively affect the balance of the season.

“We come from a victorious away game in Rieti, on a difficult court against a very competitive team, where we showed maturity and solidity – points out the general manager of the Campani Franko Bushati -: there is a great atmosphere, we were all good together to build it. And as always, we think about one game at a time: this spirit has allowed us to be here, in the running for the top spots in this final phase of the championship. With Brindisi it is the classic game that everyone would like to play, we know very well what is at stake. I’m sure we’ll be ready and, most importantly, there will be a great atmosphere at the arena with lots of fans supporting us.”

Leading Brindisi’s maneuver is a well-known face like Andrea Cinciarini, a former player in the challenge. Piero Bucchi’s lineup, however, can count above all on the talent of the two Americans, Zach Copeland, already seen in Napoli, and Blake Francis: outfielders capable of creating play and points, therefore particularly dangerous. The guard department is further reinforced by the physicality of Aristide Mouhaha, also a former player. Under the basket, however, the Apulians find solidity with Ethan Esposito and Giovanni Vildera. Rounding out the roster are then Gabriele Miani, Lorenzo Maspero and Todor Radonjic.
