A strong and clear stance. Panini S.p.A., a publishing house specializing in the publication of figurines, cards and comic books, issued a press release to provide clarity about a Reuters article in which it spoke of a possible sale (total or partial) of the historic Modena-based company by the end of this year.

“With reference to the article published by Reuters, Panini S.p.A. wishes to clarify that its shareholders have taken advice from Citigroup to identify and evaluate the company’s future strategic options. This analysis is not expected to be concluded before the end of the year,” reads the statement issued by Panini itself.

“The options currently under consideration include maintaining Panini’s current ownership structure without changes, listing on the stock exchange, and a possible opening to a major strategic partner who can contribute, in particular, to support the company’s growth. There will, however, be no sale to any competitor, as the goal is to expand the company, not make it disappear. Any information or market rumors suggesting alternative scenarios must be considered completely unfounded and without any basis whatsoever,” the official statement’s closing.

A clear and precise response to what was explicated by Reuters, which, in the article, cited “potential buyers” and an increase in them after “the death last year of shareholder and CEO Hugo Sallustro.”
