Mystery remains for the post-Gattuso era

Acc Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri spoke about his future in a press conference on the eve of the Rossoneri’s match against Verona. According to rumors, the Tuscan coach is in contention for a place on the bench of the Italian national team, along with Antonio Conte.
“In these weeks, everyone is talking. The only ones not talking are my friends who are in Livorno. But it’s normal. Every year you arrive at this time and you say that one goes that way and that one goes that way: soccer is also beautiful for this. Anything can happen in soccer, even in matches. One thing that counts is the final result, through performance.”
Allegri seems to be pushing away a future as technical commissioner: “I repeat, my history as a coach speaks clearly: I was 4 years at AC Milan, I did 8 years at Juventus, then I came back to Milan. For me so many changes were not in my DNA. I like working in a club that is a business, which has to be managed as such: it has to be made competitive and at the same time sustainable. To do this, we cannot do everything in a day: we have to plan analyze, see the mistakes that have been made and continue.”
On Milan’s future goals: “The first step is the goal of Champions League football and then planning for the future, something that already started last year when half the squad changed. Then, we all dreamed of competing with Inter, but without losing sight of our goal: we have to think about that. I am linked to Milan and usually when we started at the beginning of the season, we had to think already about the next one: once this year’s team was built, already the next year’s construction started. You have to get to the Champions League, though. We must not look three months ahead, but two years ahead.”
