Jannik Sinner, another training session with a high-level opponent

Campus 10 packed Tuesday in Madrid for the training of Jannik Sinner, protagonist of an intense and well-attended session together with Francisco Cerúndolo. The work between the two was carried out at a high pace, between prolonged exchanges and attention to technical details, with Sinner appearing focused and growing in condition.
The most notable news of the day was the return to the box of Darren Cahill who, after missing the Monte-Carlo tournament, rejoined the team of theAzzurri. His presence represents an important piece in the preparation ahead of the next major clay court events, starting with the Internazionali BNL d’Italia and ending with Roland Garros.
The work program will continue in the coming days: in fact, another training session is scheduled for Wednesday, this time with Jakub Mensík, useful to continue testing pace and solutions on the court.
The context in which Sinner is training is that of a moment of extraordinary form. The South Tyrolean comes to Madrid on the strength of a streak of 17 consecutive wins, culminating with successes in Indian Wells, Miami and Monte Carlo. It was precisely the tournament in the Principality, which he won in the final against Carlos Alcaraz with a score of 7-6(5), 6-3, that confirmed his ability to progressively adapt to clay, a surface on which the world number 1 has been working with increasing dedication.
As explained by coach Simone Vagnozzi after the Monaco triumph, the secret has been a daily adaptation process: “After Miami he took two days off and on Tuesday we started to familiarize ourselves a little bit with the court, with the slides on clay. Then we started playing with a little more spin, opening the angles a little more, trying sometimes short balls, sometimes topspin shots. Day by day, we improved all these tactical and movement aspects.”
