Torino hasn’t broken the curse of the San Siro, where it hasn’t won against AC Milan in 31 years. But it is beginning to find itself. That, at least, is the thought of Giampiero Ventura, who comments bitterly on
the knockout decreed by an Antonelli goal. Using a particularly effective metaphor:
.
“It’s a period that goes like this, if a pigeon flies it gets us in the head… If we had drawn there would have been nothing to say,” Ventura told Premium Sport, “We could have gone ahead, we suffered two dangers on inactive balls and we took a goal at the end of the first half. It stings not to score when you deserve it, but I saw again the Torino I know, who came to San Siro to play with personality and without fear against a team that is in a very good moment. Now, however, we have to get back to throwing it in.”
Positive signs also from Immobile: “He is returning the player who scored 22 goals two years ago, he has returned to attacking spaces, even if he missed a goal. If he will be redeemed? Ask Cairo….”
.
Who knows, Ventura might not find Immobile again in the national team… The granata coach renews his candidacy for the post-Conte role: “In these years we have done a great job raising youngsters such as Ogbonna, Bonucci, Ranocchia, Immobile, Darmian and also Cerci, who could become the hard core of the new cycle. I think there would be a chance to do something important, but I doubt they will give me that chance…”.
