Christian Jalon Massinburg is likely to remain in Italy: according to La Prealpina, the former Germani Brescia player is among the players being targeted by Apu Udine general manager Andrea Conti, who is building the roster for next season.

CJ Massinburg, 29, who came up through the Buffalo Bulls, arrived in Europe in 2021 to play for Limoges, where he demonstrated impressive scoring ability that led Brescia to sign him in 2022. He spent two seasons with the Leonessa; in 2023, he won the Italian Cup, and in 2024, he was named Most Improved Player and Sixth Man of the Year in the LBA.

After a year in Turkey with Koleji, he returned to Brescia in 2025, where he was unable to replicate the performance of his early seasons due to muscle issues that sidelined him for an extended period. Massinburg remains a highly sought-after player in Serie A, and Udine is ready to take a chance on him: Coach Vertemati has already given his approval.

Other major clubs are interested in him, but the prospect of being one of the key players for the new Old Wild West could push Massinburg toward Friuli. Meanwhile, Apu Udine has just announced the signing of point guard Zan Mark Sisko, who is joining from Cibona Zagreb.

Sisko, a Slovenian point guard born in 1997, has made over 70 EuroLeague appearances for Bayern Munich and is considered one of the most well-rounded playmakers on the European scene. Serving as the link between the new signing and the Friuli environment is none other than coach Adriano Vertemati, who had already worked with the Slovenian in Bavaria when he was part of the German club’s coaching staff: a well-established relationship that played a decisive role in the choice to join Udine.

The signing of Sisko fills the void left by Semaj Christon, who—after lengthy contract renewal negotiations—ultimately chose to transfer to Pallacanestro Cantù, under coach Frank Vitucci. This departure prompted the Friuli-based management to step up their search for a point guard, identifying the Slovenian as the ideal candidate to lead Vertemati’s rotations.
