Juventus Transfer Market: Jonathan David Fails to Impress at the World Cup, Too; Sale Won’t Be Easy

From bad to worse. Juventus had hoped that Jonathan David would perform well at the World Cup on home soil. With a spot on the Canadian national team assured, the forward—who is under contract with the Bianconeri—had a great chance to shine and silence his critics.

His hat trick against Qatar was the only moment when Jonathan David showed anything significant. Otherwise, aside from a few good ideas, there was a lot of confusion and decidedly disappointing performances.

This poses a problem for Juventus CEO Giovanni Carnevali, who, at this point, will have to deal with a difficult situation regarding the possible transfer of the Canadian forward, who, as is well known, does not fit into coach Luciano Spalletti’s plans.

After a World Cup in which he underperformed, it won’t be easy to find clubs willing to invest in Jonathan David, who, in the end, might even stay with Juventus—unless the club decides to lower its asking price or, perhaps, consider a straight loan (another complicated option).
