Milan Transfer Market: Barcelona Expresses Interest in Leao; Milan’s Asking Price

Rafael Leao has reestablished himself at the World Cup, just as Milan had hoped. The Portuguese winger, who has already announced on several occasions that he will be leaving the Rossoneri, put in an excellent performance in the World Cup Round of 16 against Croatia, where he provided the assist for the decisive goal by new Milan signing Ramos and caught the world’s attention. Leao is no longer part of the Rossoneri’s future plans and is looking for a move to a major European club.
According to rumors, Barcelona has once again approached Milan to inquire about the player: Coach Flick is interested in Leao, and he has been linked in the past to the Blaugrana, who ultimately opted for Marcus Rashford instead. It is precisely the possible failure to sign the Englishman (Flick has his doubts) that is reportedly causing the Spanish champions to shift their focus to the Portuguese international.
The rift between Leao and Milan, along with the player’s performances at the World Cup, have reignited the Catalans’ interest; however, they have so far been held back by Milan’s asking price, which is between 60 and 70 million euros for the Portuguese winger. Barcelona is currently biding its time and hoping for a discount: Milan will not accept a loan deal with an option to buy.
In addition to the Catalans, other clubs are reportedly considering Leao, including Tottenham, which has embarked on a new era under De Zerbi and has already signed Sandro Tonali. And then there’s always Saudi Arabia, even if it isn’t among the player’s top options.
