With Guglielmo Vicario now signed, Juventus is preparing to part ways with both Michele Di Gregorio and Mattia Perin—last season’s two goalkeepers—just a few days before the start of the Serie A season. The Bianconeri are evaluating all options for a backup goalkeeper and have identified a new candidate.

Michele Di Gregorio’s transfer to Bournemouth is all set: the former Monza goalkeeper is heading to England on loan with an option to buy, marking his first stint abroad. Mattia Perin is also set to leave, with a move to Palermo looking very likely: the Rosanero have approached the Turin club after speaking with the goalkeeper, with whom they’ve reached an agreement through 2028 for approximately two million euros per season.

The second-string goalkeeper behind Vicario could be Santiago Beltran, one of Argentina’s most promising goalkeepers. The River Plate goalkeeper is considered the heir to Dibu Martinez in the Albiceleste’s goal, and Juventus has inquired about him. At the moment, River’s asking price is high, but the Old Lady is ready to negotiate, according to Sky Sport. Beltran holds an Italian passport and made his first start of the season between the posts for River.

Should the Beltrán deal fall through, Juventus has already evaluated other options. Among the players being monitored is Christos Mandas, a Greek goalkeeper born in 2001 who is owned by Lazio and highly regarded by Luciano Spalletti and his staff. The possibility of signing Vanja Milinkovic-Savic—a former Torino player currently with Napoli, where he does not appear to be part of Massimiliano Allegri’s plans—should not be ruled out either. The Serbian had already emerged as a potential option in recent weeks and could once again be on the radar.
