Brindisi, Claudio Bonaccorsi makes no drama
Claudio Bonaccorsi Speaks
Former basketball player Claudio Bonaccorsi analyzed to 'Il Quotidiano di Puglia' the relegation of Happy Casa Brindisi: "Brindisi just took a step back to catch its breath and start running again with more enthusiasm than before. I am very sorry for the relegation, in the last games gave the impression of having found the square so much that salvation seemed acquirable".
"Unfortunately, things did not go as hoped – then admitted the'former play of the biancazzurri from 2004 to 2006 -. I have learned that in life everything è quite cyclical and in many other places where I have been including Rimini, Teramo and Roseto, there have been good moments and painful falls. Now it is also happening in Brindisi, but precisely in Brindisi there’è a basketball culture and a passion that will allow to go back up the slope as soon as possible".
"I make forò a reflection that does not only concern Brindisi: basketball today, at all levels, è much more balanced and competitive than in the past. You canè win and lose against everyone. What happens is that you may have planned a season with quite different goals and, instead, you find yourself in the quicksand of the standings without almost realizing it. And if you have lost the’habit of fighting and suffering to achieve salvation, everything becomes much moreù complicated".
"In some ways è what happened to Happy Casa itself. In the past years, the club è managed to do great things despite being a small realityà, I think it was the right reward and the right place for a competent and passionate square captained by President Fernando Marino and supported by a people of fans who deserved those goals for the’commitment made and the sacrifices made in these years of basketball at a high level. It’ has been a boast for the cityà and an example for the entire Italian basketball, unfortunately then comes a season like this when things do not go as you would like and you struggle to come out" concluded Bonaccorsi.
