Genoa, Alberto Gilardino speaks out on renewal
Alberto Gilardino removes all doubts about renewal
During the press conference to introduce the away match at AC Milan, Genoa coach Alberto Gilardino explained that he has reached an agreement in principle with the club to extend his current contract, which expires next June 30. The Grifone will therefore move forward with the Biella coach, the architect of promotion 12 months ago and a quiet salvation in A this year.
"We have found a verbal agreement with the companyà – confirmed the 2006 world champion -. In the coming days we will meet again to formalize it. I am really happy, staying on this bench was my wish and I could not have hoped for anything better".
"The idea clearly is not è new, I had talked about it to the companyà in the past few weeks – Gilardino further explained -. There is the will, from everyone, to give continuityà to the work done with my staff and the team. Only the details are missing but the fact that there is a verbal agreement è very positive".
Gilardino, born in 1982, after a brilliant career as a footballer, culminating with rainbow success at the national team level in Germany 2006 and at club level the following year with the Milan jersey, began his coaching career at Rezzato, in Serie D, in February 2019. He then coached Pro Vercelli in C, Siena in D and C and Genoa in B and A.
