Rafa Nadal prepares for Paris slam

Rafa Nadal è came out of the Internazionali d'Italia in the second round, defeated by Hubert Hurkacz, but also with the knowledge that he is still one of the most beloved tennis players in the world, as evidenced by the bath of crowds that cheered him in the Capital. The Majorcan è returned to his Manacor with only one goal: to train to get to the best of his ability at Roland Garros.

Despite being currently out of the top 250 in the world (heà will be number 276 at the next ranking update), Nadal will be ableà to play in Paris thanks to the "protected ranking" (granted to players coming back from long periods of inactivityà; due to injury), althoughé this condition exposes him to matches with seeded players already in the opening rounds of the slam tournament he won 14 times between 2005 and 2022, crowning him as "King of clay".

According to reports from 'As' the breakthrough è is close: in fact, Nadal is reportedly planning to fly to Paris as early as next week and confirm his presence himself. What convinced him would be precisely the reception the fans gave him in Rome, which had visibly excited him.

Recently, in an interview with France 2, Nadal had already anticipated his intentions: "I do not know if I will be competitive at Roland Garros, I would like to play it and give my best, and then see what happens. I’d like to at least have a chance to compete, if he won’t be able to win a match he won’t do anything, but at least he will have tried".
