Maverick Viñales points finger at Yamaha
On the occasion of the presentation of his documentary on "DAZN Spain", Maverick Viñales, among the various topics covered, è returned to his adventure in official Yamaha without sparing harsh barbs against the Japanese stable.
"When I arrived in Yamaha, I did it like a rocket. I landed there with a clear idea, a clear goal, which was to become World Champion riding their bike. When I got on the M1 at the Valencia tests I was innomitable and asked the engineers not to touch it, I wanted that one, which had been Jorge Lorenzo" bike, began the Spanish centaur.
"I wanted them to take that bike to Qatar, becauseè I was sure that with that I would win the World Championship. At the Sepang test, però the bike was new, becauseé the Japanese always want to improve. I felt great even with the new one, but I felt something was wrong. I won the first two races of the season and then managed to triumph in Le Mans as well, beating my idol Valentino Rossi" continued the'former Aprilia rider.
At Montmelò, forò, è everything changed. I tested with five different chassis and I couldn't understand anything anymore. I got to Assen and crashed. From that moment everything started to fall apart. That year frustrated me a lot, it was my year and the time when I was stronger and faster than everyone else. Mentally it hurt me even more because I expected to win and there's nothing worse than expecting something that doesn't happen. As the seasons went by è it got worse and worse. I am sorry that it ended this way, becauseé if Yamaha had listened to me I would have undoubtedly won the world title" added the 1995-class centaur.
" The goal for me remains to win a World Championship and in today’s MotoGp there are two factions: either you go against Ducati or you join them. In Ducati è it is very difficult to win, because you have the same bike but not the same weapons. So I was left with only one option, to go to KTM and be the challenger" concluded Maverick Viñales.
