Milan, it’s time for the Champions League quarterfinals.

Milan in Champions
It's CEV Champions League time again for Numia Vero Volley Milano. Tuesday, March 4 at 8 pm.30 Orro and her teammates will take the court – for the last time this European season – at Milan's Allianz Cloud to face the Turks of Eczacibasi Dynavit Istanbul, in the first leg of the Quarterfinals. An eventual victory would allow the meneghine to take an important step toward the Final Four of Europe's top competition, scheduled for May 3 and 4 in Istanbul.
For the fourth year in a row, the lineup led by coach Lavarini has reached this stage of the tournament and, for the first time in its history in the Champions League, will face the Turkish team coached by coach Akbas, currently the second force in the Turkish league. The match promises great spectacle and will see the confrontation between Egonu and Bošković, two of the strongest opponents in the world, who meet again on the court after the Quarterfinals of the Paris Olympics.
Although this is the first meeting between the two teams, the Allianz Cloud will host a challenge between two teams that know each other well. For Eczacibasi the only former è Laura Heyrman, who played in Turkey in the 2022/23 season. On the other hand, there are four former Vero Volleyball players that Milan will find again on the other side of the net, starting with Dana Rettke who played for two and a half seasons in Vero Volleyball, playing as a protagonist in the historic first CEV Champions League final last May; along with her Jovana Stevanovic, Anna Nicoletti, who wore the colors of Vero Volleyball in the 2016/17 season, and Kathryn Plummer, for a short time in 2019/20.
