Sting for Claudio Ranieri after charges against Stieler and Rosetti

Maxi-fine to Ranieri
The sting arrives for Claudio Ranieri following post-match statements from the Europa League playoff first leg match between Roma and Porto in which the Giallorossi coach lashed out at referee Tobias Stieler and designator Roberto Rosetti.
UEFA, in fact, has imposed a maxi-fine on the Roman coach: 20 thousand euros penalty for "violation of the basic rules of decent conduct". In addition, the Capitoline club has been sanctioned with two other fines: one of 11 thousand euros for "improper conduct of the team" (Ranieri forbade his players to shake hands with the referee, ed.), the other of 8 thousand for "acts of damage caused to the stadium and/or its installations".
After the 1-1 draw in Portugal, Ranieri had declared: "Rosetti è upright, who has to prove a serious person? I don't understand him. He sends a referee who has this data: out of 21 games, the opponent away from home has made only 8 draws, the rest of the matches were won by the home team, as I know he knows. For me, he was waiting for something in the’penalty area for Porto to win the game".
A certainly heavy fine for Roma and its coach, who però was not disqualified, and therefore will be able to sit on the Giallorossi bench in the first leg of the round of 16 with Athletic Bilbao, scheduled for Thursday, March 6 at 9 p.m. at the Stadio Olimpico.
