Jannik Sinner, during suspension there'was a problem: coach reveals it

Interviewed by Sky Sports UK, Darren Cahill revealed some background on the period Jannik Sinner has had to spend away from the courts: “One of the biggest challenges we have had to face in the last three months, and particularly in the last two, when we started to get a little closer to returning, has been trying to replicate the situations he faces in the game”.
“We found that he too often had lapses in concentration when we were playing points. He would always practice well, always hit the ball well, but he would lose his concentration. So I even had to climb into the umpire’s chair and time him 25 seconds between points. I pointed out to him a couple of violations”.
“I got a little boost in return, but I was trying to get him back into the rhythm of points and matches to make sure he would come out on top in Rome and maybe it worked. In the first two matches he maybe struggled to find the right rhythm and timing, but then he got there pretty quickly” Cahill continued.
In the semifinals of the Rome Internationals, Jannik Sinner had his fans shaking after the first set, which ended 6-1 to his opponent Paul: “A little bit’ it’s also my fault– admitted Cahill. “As a coach you don’t really know how to prepare your players after they play as well as Jannik did against Ruud. It’s like winning a tournament. And maybe I should have reset him a little bit’ put him back on the grid like a Formula 1 car”.
