Armand Duplantis, a two-time Olympic pole vault champion (Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024), once again improved his world record by one centimeter to 6.28 meters during the seventh leg of the Diamond League in Stockholm.

After clearing all measures on the first attempt, the Swedish star improved his record for the 12th time on the first attempt, which he has held since dethroning Frenchman Renaud Lavillenie (6.16m) in February 2020.

On the same stage in Stockholm there is also an’Azzurra to sign a new Italian record in the 100-meter hurdles: Giada Carmassi. The 31-year-old from Friuli, who finished sixth in the race won by Grace Stark of the United States, soared in 12.69.

For Carmassi, this is the first Italian record of her career, improving on Luminosa Bogliolo’s 12.75 obtained in the Tokyo 2021 Olympic semifinals.
