Jannik Sinner: milestones before Panichi and Badio'farewell

Jannik Sinner has decided to sever his relationship with Marco Panichi, his athletic trainer, and Ulises Badio, his physical therapist, after a partnership that lasted just nine months. A decision that appeared sudden, but which by no means seems to have fallen from the void. In fact, the warnings of a possible, imminent revolution were already there.
Already in that of Halle, in fact, Jannik Sinner had appeared without Panichi in a tournament that had then seen him disappear already in the second round at the hands of Aleksandr Bublik. On that occasion along with him was Darren Cahill and Ulises Badio was still present. Earlier in the week, upon his arrival at Wimbledon, however, the Highlander’s entourage consisted of Cahill himself and Simone Vagnozzi as coach, along with only osteopath Andrea Cipolla.
According to reconstructions by the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport’ however, Sinner had been pondering the possibility of revolutionizing his staff for some time. Despite the vast experience of Panichi and Badio, both of whom had long worked alongside Novak Djokovic, the San Candido champion would never develop a deep relationship of trust with the two. What’s more, he often marked by deep confidentiality, would not have entirely liked their tendency to give an inordinate number of interviews from his point of view.
The professional relationship was there, and its effectiveness is demonstrated by a Roland Garros final that lasted as many as five and a half hours. In Paris, however, Sinner’s experience ended with a rather painful defeat, decisive in making him make a decision he had been thinking about for some time. Now it remains to decide the names of those who will replace them. Always the ‘rosea’ suggests those of Claudio Zimaglia and Dalibor Sirola, who, however, have meanwhile joined Novak Djokovic’s entourage. Their availability, therefore, is currently all to be proven.
