MotoGP, Dutch GP: Marc Marquez dominates sprint, 5th Bagnaia

In the MotoGP Sprint Race of the Assen Grand Prix to triumph was Marc Marquez, absolute protagonist of a flawless race. The Spaniard of the Ducati team, who started from the fourth box on the grid, immediately made his intentions clear with a perfect start that propelled him into the lead from the very first corners. After overtaking Fabio Quartararo, then forced to retire due to a crash while occupying fourth position, Marc masterfully managed the pace until the checkered flag.
Behind the Spaniard, came his brother Alex Marquez, author of a solid race that confirms the great seasonal growth. Third step of the podium for Marco Bezzecchi, very fast on his Aprilia, able to defend himself from the attacks of Di Giannantonio, fourth at the finish line. Only fifth was Pecco Bagnaia, who started from second position but was unable to find the pace to fight for the podium. The Italian struggled throughout the race and was never really competitive for the win.
With this victory, the tenth in a Sprint for Marc Marquez (the ninth this season alone), the Spaniard becomes the first rider to win a Sprint starting from the second row since Bagnaia’s feat in Mandalika in 2024. Marquez thus confirms an extraordinary state of form: since his first Sprint victory at Aragon in 2024, he has claimed 10 wins in 19 short races, collecting an impressive 23 Sprint podiums, including 10 consecutive ones. A domination that projects him firmly at the top of the overall standings, with a lead of 43 points over his brother Alex and an impressive 117 over Bagnaia.
After a good 2554 days since his last victory at Assen in 2017, Marc Marquez returns to triumph on the Dutch track, confirming himself as the rider to beat in the Sprint format.
