Monologue of Marc Marquez on “his” Sachsenring, third Pecco Bagnaia

In the German MotoGP class Grand Prix, Marc Marquez dominated unchallenged on his factory Ducati ahead of his little brother Alex Marquez on Ducati Gresini and Pecco Bagnaia on the other factory Ducati. Only ten made it to the finish line in a true elimination race.
At the first corner Marc was in the lead ahead of Bezzecchi, Di Giannantonio and Alex, the two Italians overtook and counter-overtook each other during the first lap and on the second lap Di Giannantonio prevailed over Bezzecchi. Bagnaia slowly climbs to fifth place behind Bezzecchi and Alex, who are fighting for third.
On lap 18, Di Giannantonio, who is quietly in second, crashes, and shortly behind, Zarco also ends up on the ground. Three laps later it is Bezzecchi’s turn to throw away the place d’honor and so Alex is second behind his brother and Bagnaia finds himself in third. Fourth is Fabio Quartararo on the Yamaha, fifth is Fermin Aldeguer on the other Ducati Gresini and sixth is an incredible Luca Marini, making his comeback on the Honda and at his best result of the year after three races of absence due to injury.
For Marc Marquez, in his 200th race in MotoGP, it is his 69th victory in the premier class, one more than Giacomo Agostini scored in the 500, his 95th total in MotoGP, his ninth in MotoGP at the Sachsenring circuit and his 12th among all classes at the same track, his seventh of the season on Sunday, and his fourth in a row. His younger brother Alex is still his “closest” pursuer but is now 83 points behind.
