Italy and Spain also rivals in the'Enduro: Andrea Verona sounds the charge

Just a few weeks away from one of the most important events on the international calendar dedicated to Enduro races, the Six Days to be held in Bergamo from August 24 to 29, Andrea Verona is already showing himself ready to kick off a new chapter in the rivalry between Italy and Spain, a constant not only in motorcycling but also in other sports, as seen very recently with the challenges on the tennis courts between Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz. Sportal.it had the pleasure of listening exclusively to Verona’s words at Airoh’s headquarters in Almenno San Salvatore (Bergamo, Italy).
“We are more or less halfway through the season – explained the 26-year-old champion -, the second part will be characterized by what is the’most important event of the year, the Six Days: it is a very heartfelt event every year, in 2025 then it will be held in Italy and this will stimulate us even more to give our best to achieve an important result”.
“The rivalry between Italy and Spain – added Verona – is increasingly fierce in various sports: in ours, it has been a few years that with Josep Garcia we play the World Championship and the Six Days, every race is special. This year at the Six Days we play at home, we hope to come out on top both as a team and in the’individual”.
Beyond and beyond the “sports jousting” on the track, between rivals there always remains great respect and fairness, as Andrea Verona himself confirmed: “That on the track is a healthy rivalry: on the race weekend everyone does their own thing and tries to be the best, it’s normal. Off the track, however, there’s great respect among all the drivers”.
