Novak Djokovic was overwhelmed 6-4, 6-2 by a spirited Jannik Sinner at the ongoing Six Kings Slam in Saudi Arabia.

The Serbian tennis player, who has not beaten the Blue since 2023, i.e., eight matches, felt obliged at the end of the match to apologize to the audience for his performance and for the brevity of the match, which lasted just over an hour.

“I am sorry you could not watch a longer match – said Nole wryly -, but his fault, not mine! He looked like a runaway train, hitting the ball from all angles and I was just trying to hold on. He was just too good”.

Djokovic does not regret at all that he is still on the court at 38, and he feels it is worth it despite these defeats: “It is always worth it because the love for this game and the passion for tennis is always there. No it is never nice when someone kicks you like that on the court. But it is really amazing to still be able to play at a high level, to be in the top 10, in the top 5, it feels good, good”.

Djokovic feels he can still give something: “It has been an amazing journey, an amazing career, there&#8217s so much to celebrate, but I would love it if someone could trade a younger body for me, that would be nice, even if it&#8217s just for a year, so I could try to keep winning against these guys. I know it is getting harder and harder to get a win against Jannik and Carlos, but I know it will continue to challenge them until it happens, we will see”.
