To Carlo Calcagni the "Golden Collar". "Immense privilege, never give up" says

Next November 3 will be a very important day for Carlo Calcagni. He himself explains. “Receiving the ‘Collare d’Oro al Merito Sportivo’ from the Italian Paralympic Committee (CIP), the highest honor recognized in sports, as a further attestation of the title of World Champion 2025, represents an immense privilege” he tells.
“It is an award that not only rewards a victory, but celebrates a journey of sacrifices, falls, rises, fear and courage– he adds. “My neurodegenerative disease tries every day to slow me down, to stop me, to take away what I love. My answer is always the same: never give up and keep going. Dedication, constant work, deep motivation, love and inner serenity, won through struggle, prove that any barrier can be overcome. Even mountains can be moved”.
“On November 3, I will experience a moment that I will carry in my heart forever,” he then stressed. I dedicate it to those who gave me strength when the strength seemed to fade, to FISPES and CIP for their trust and for this prestigious recognition, to the entire National Team, no one excluded, the coaches and technicians for believing in me even when others doubted, to the doctors and medical staff, for the humanity and expertise that supported my every step, to my family and friends, my rock and my safe landing, to all the supporters, their energy pushed me over the edge. With gratitude and respect, I would also like to thank those who have hindered, judged or excluded me over the years, because their choices and walls have forced me to become stronger, more resilient, more resilient and more determined”.
“Each closed door has been an opportunity to build a gateway to a new horizon. We start again, with humility and even stronger determination, toward new goals, new dreams, new achievements, because every success is the beginning of a new challenge. Never give up, despite everything and everyone, whatever it takes” Calcagni concludes.
