After being beaten 6-0 6-0 in the last Wimbledon final, Amanda Anisimova is becoming Iga Swiatek’s black beast. The U.S. world No. 4, having already taken a rematch in the quarterfinals of the U.S. Open, in the last match of the WTA Finals round dedicated to Serena Williams defeated the Pole by a score of 6-7 6-4 6-2 and earned her place for the semifinals by leaving out the WTA No. 2.

Swiatek in the first set saves a break point in the first game of the match, then another at 4-4 and again two more consecutive ones at 6-5. Eventually it went to the tie-break, which Iga managed to win 7-3 on the second set point by making three minibreaks to Anisimova, who during the set had not allowed her the slightest chance.

The U.S. saves three break points, including two consecutive ones, at 1-1 in the second set, then finally, at 5-4, manages to break her opponent and extend the match. At 1-0 in her favor she immediately has three break points, the first two consecutive, misses them, but at 2-1 she goes 0-40 on Swiatek’s serve, misses the first two again but the last one is the good one. It is the decisive stretch and, after saving a counterbreak ball at 4-2, in the next game Amanda puts the seal on the match on her opponent’s serve after 2 hours and 36 minutes of battle.
