The response of Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton to John Elkann was not long in coming. On the sidelines of the presentation of the partnership on the Milan-Cortina Winter Games, the Ferrari chairman had attacked the drivers: “They need to focus on driving and talk less. There are still some races left and it is not impossible to aim for second place in the constructors” world championship.

Both the Monegasque and the Englishman decided to respond by relying on social media. The former published a post on his Instagram account that read: “A very difficult weekend in Sao Paulo. It&#8217s disappointing to go home with hardly any points for the team at a crucial time of the season when they are fighting for second place in the constructors&#8217 championship. From now on it will be all uphill and it is clear that only unity can help us turn things around in the last three races. We will give it our all, as always”.

“Brazil. Thank you for all the love, as always –the words of the seven-time world champion -In the end, it wasn&#8217t the race we wanted. It is disappointing, especially after the good progress we made, but we will move on. I support my team. I support myself. I will not give up. Not now, not then, not ever”.

In the Constructors’ Championship, the Maranello-based team is currently in fourth place in the standings with 362 points, four less than Red Bull, while Mercedes is second at 398. Leclerc and Hamilton will play it all in the next three GPs, scheduled in Las Vegas, Qatar and Abu Dhabi.
